UN Politics or Peacekeeping Here is a link which details some of the problems that the US/UK action caused in the UN. It is seen as a breach of international law and certain members of the Security Council will veto any effort to extricate the US/UK alliance unless considerable concessions are made. Some observers expect France to request concessions that would go beyond those normally requested by the UN.
