Sure, just use a local broker. For Oil/Gas trusts I use a Canadian broker, ditto for REI.UN. For Chinese stocks listed in New York I use Ameritrade Canada. For Chinese stocks listed in China I use HSBC BANK Canada. For European stocks I use a European broker. The aim, try to get the lowest commissions.
