BKB/BKBOF sells at 4X revenues, slightly more than LGTO which is pending purchase by EMC. LGTO has minor growth rate compared with 50-70% for BakBone. Management has low-balled fiscal 2004 revenue estimate ($29-32M). They want a Nasdaq listing which I anticipate will happen within 9 months. The attention that will bring will be good for a much higher price/revenue ratio more in line with historical high-growth U.S. software companies (6-10X).

BakBone's product is said to be better than Legato's or Veritas' with lower total cost of ownership. It works with all major platforms (mix-and-match no problem). Also the best support in Linux where they may dominate. In recent conference call, CEO said that downloads of sample software from their web site by potential customers was up 400% over last year (nudge, nudge).

Management has done a great job of growing revenues while containing operating costs which are expected to grow slightly this FY. Revenues in excess of guidance should see a big boost on the bottom line. Little fish, big pond.

Liking the ride so far,
