I for one appreciate your honesty. I am genuinely trying to see all sides of this issue. And I appreciate straight talk. I like to both get it and give it. So, here I am chatting with a man who took me to the woodshed over my use of "imaginary friend," which at least has a playfulness about it even if it wasn't complementary, who seems unwilling to even consider the possibility that I do, in fact, think that childlessness is generally an inferior state, although I admit that there may be overriding considerations that dignify it as a choice, such as religious vocation. is raw? Like, duh! You enlightened me on "imaginary friend." I'm trying to return the favor, as well as to understand your position fully. I can't speak for X's comments. Her views on this are different from mine so her reactions are different, she sometimes shoots from the hip, and I have not read all your exchanges having quit when they started deteriorating. But everything I have said to you is as honest, carefully considered, and focused as I can make it, still you dismiss my feedback as PC, your definition, meaning having kneejerk reactions that preclude real dialogue and distort the content of my posts.. If you cannot see what's wrong with your statement about childlessness, you have a tin ear. What is clear is that a couple of you have been so sensitive that you "hear things" I didn't even say. When one is trying to understand something alien, one looks for all the clues and makes inferences. When people used to say they were for states rights, you'd listen for clues in their language to see if they were standing on principle or if what they really meant was to keep those ---- in their place. I found some conflict between your assertions and the language you were using and I asked you about it. You never did really answer my questions but rather restated your position several times. I still can't fully reconcile your assertions and your language.
