If you said "I consider religious belief to be misguided, and agnosticism/atheism to be more rational", I would have no objection, and would consider it more or less equivalent to what I said about childlessness. So much of this is a function of whose ox is being gored. I know you try to be even handed. I try to be even handed, too. No one is perfect at that. I do not think suggesting that people are childish is worse that asserting the indignity of someone's chosen way of life. Childish vs. without dignity. Can you honestly say that one is a significantly worse insult or more hurtful? You so easily dismiss my point...
