Mr. Watson, at the very least you should post enough of the quote so that you don't distort its meaning. For the record, here's enough of the quote so that the meaning is more clear:

>>"Is it somehow more forgivable when it's us, through our government, that sends those young people to their deaths? I don't care if it's one person or 1,000 or what the number is, in my opinion there's NOTHING more criminal than sending our young people to die untimely deaths, to come home injured, maimed, and with hollow eyes, after wreaking death and destruction on other human beings, without first determining that there is NO other choice AND that the cause is JUST and the LIKELY outcome will ADVANCE that just cause."<<

The section you isolated indicates that there are no qualifiers to the horror of sending our troops to war. I don't personally believe that. I think there are things worth fighting and dying for. I think that there are times when it is inevitable that we send our young men out. I also, however, believe that we should do so only when it is both necessary AND effective. As I've indicated in other posts, I've seen nothing yet that would indicate that the war in Iraq is either necessary OR that it will end in success in view of the stated goals of this administration.

Now what's retarded about that? Clue, if you haven't a clue; ask Sherlock Holmes. He's a lot brighter, or at least more aware, than you are.
