So things are great and recovering, why are Bush's numbers falling? The talking heads shows on the weekends are starting to admit that Bush is going to have a fight on his hands in 04, I agree, and I don't care if the opponent is Dean. We have the worst jobs climate in my lifetime and the worst deficit. Bush had the world at his feet when he took office and he shot his wad totally. And I am a fiscal conservative.

Ish,
I think the unemployment numbers are also being cooked now a days (not taking aim at either this administration or previous one). Over a period of time they stopped taking into consideration certain segments of population in their unemployment numbers (or maybe this was always the case but that segment's population might have gone up lately).
One example of such segment is prison population. So in real terms the unemployment is higher over the last few years (boom times included) than is actually put out by feds.
