Bob, he could be right that the VIX has not risen enough to suggest the market is going down hard. There has been ample evidence to suggest that the market could rise instead but the latest trends suggest otherwise.

As far as the VIX goes I'm only saying that if the rising VIX trend continues to persist then the market cannot rise indefinitely.

It will fall instead in tandem.

It does not matter from what level the VIX rises or the market falls. An established trend will take its toll in either direction.

Bulls can turn out to be pigs.

Just as the recent falling VIX skinned a lot of bear's bulls too can lose out on gains if this current rising VIX trend does not reverse.

If it does reverse(and smarter people than I am think the VIX could be at tough resistance) then I as always will be happy for those who profit from it.

There are many here who trade more profitably than I do be that longer term or shorter term. Good for all of you!

All I can do is attempt to learn a little more each day and work towards being a better investor.
