No it doesn't prove it is maladaptive, except in one sense- that Neo can imagine it is. But I already knew that. So, again, I have to wonder what the point is, was, and will continue to be.

It demonstrates that it would have been maladaptive if practiced exclusively by our ancestors. Practiced by a small percent of the population, the model doesn't tell us anything. Nor does it tell us anything about the scenario where it's practiced exclusively but with today's technology.

I still think it's maladaptive, but don't think the model is useful.
