<<Running out of margin>>

Well, you have bigger #%@^ then I, thats for sure. One thing the bear taught me, was NEVER use money you don't have, and always try and have some cash so you can buy, if things get really bad.

With that in mind, I sold some stuff yesterday for a couple of reasons. Wanted to lock in profits on a few things before they had a chance to disappear. Profits may not have been as large as they would have if I sold weeks ago, but still not bad. Also, not sure what the market will do, or how bad it will get hit, I wanted cash available so I can buy certain stocks if they get whacked over the coming months. What I tried to do was sell partial positions so I get cash, but also keep some shares of whatever I sold. For instance, booked very nice profit on FDRY, but also kept some shares in case she doesnt get whacked hard and goes up. Same thing with most stocks I have. And to be frank, I may do some more selling while profits are still there, since market is not looking good right now. I'll still be plenty vested in case we jump up, but will have cash, in case we go down. Sleep better at night this way, thats for sure. No reason to worry or care if we go up or down. Up, and I have stuff that will go up. Down, and I have cash to buy at cheaper prices.

But, like I said, you are a bigger man then I. I swore I would never use margin again. One of the easiest way to compund losses is to be on margin in a down market. Not for me. In this market, I feel alot safer with a diverse portfolio of good, solid companies, as well as some cash available if it's needed.

Best to all.....

I'm now about 30% cash, or so. Locked in some more profit, kept shares on the table. Didnt sell full positions in anything, just partial positions. Some were up well over 100% so I was able to only leave the casinos money on the table. Others up 50- 75%, I sold some, kept some.

I truly think to be sucessful in this market, you must be diverse and have cash available. Cash is king. It allows you to be much more nimble with your strategies and allows you to take advantage of certain Opp's, you could not take advantage of if you didnt have cash.

Good luck to all....

BDY: Never heard of it. Have no idea what they do. Best way to make money in this market, IMO, is the obscure names. Just have to get in at right price (as always).
