The whole argument is ridiculous. Why should the State invent priviledge for ANY PEOPLE over others?? Only because the CHURCH invents priviledge? But what happened to the Age of Reason and the Separation...??

Doesn't anyone on this thread recognize what the true opposition is? The anals consider marriage as a COVENANT with GOD (regardless that they are unable to articulate that premise). You have all heard of Him, right? He allows special treatment for (OR AGAINST) people. Eat it up, kids...

I think, in our current state of knowledge, that it is reasonable for homosexuality to be controversial, and so, although I do not agree with defining it as immoral, I do not despise those who do. I do, however, have a problem with rating it high on the syllabus of sins. C.S. Lewis himself once made the observation that sodomy, compared to many other sins of man, is small potatoes. Far worse is slapping your wife around or neglecting your children.

Anyway, thanks for mentioning that, after all, I really mean no one harm, and that we are not so far apart, after all.......

I don't want anyone celebrating sex in public. Have I made that clear? I approve or tolerate people doing almost anything they want in their homes (flagellating themselves for religion, having hetero, homosexual, or group sex, praying 24/7, contemplating their navels, whatever), and I approve (and not just tolerate) of people "marrying" in any configuration they choose (I don't see the state interest in discriminating- since I fear single people raising children far more than any group of any kind of people). So don't think I "celebrate" homosexuality, any more than I celebrate heterosexuality. I'm not into sex parades for any sex, but of course, everyone has a right to parade- I just won't be there.

Wanted to make sure you didn't think I was a "celebrationist".
