thanks for the rain wishes
... we had a little overnight.

fires are still raging though - it's
pretty bad.

You can gladly take our rain.
I've never seen so much.

Whenever I look at the weather forecast for the week it is
covered with those little drawings of rain clouds and
lightening bolts.

We've had several inches of the stuff this week.

My tomato plants seem rather happy about it.
So are the mosquitos.

Yesterday we had our first football practice after getting
rained out on Monday.

And yes, it rained. We practiced through it. (The rain
didn't last very long and no lightening.)
The kids seemed to enjoy it anyway.
They remarked how it felt similar to their lawn sprinkler.

During a short but rather heavy downpour, one kid walked up
to me with a dead pan look to his face as the water dripped
from his nose and said, "Hey coach, you know it's raining
right?"

I said, "Yeah. But unlike baseball, Football players play
in the rain."

He replied, "Maybe you'd like to explain that to my mom."
