<<And your premise that we are in a guerilla war "with Iraq" is clearly false.>> It is not my premise -- it is the judgement of military leaders who were bold enough to speak up and say it like it is. The threats we face around the world are real. They were not coming from Iraq. We have a huge occupation army in Iraq coming under fire every day. The resistance is complex and broad based -- not just a handful of people who were politically displaced. We now have our troops pinned down indefinitely in Iraq while our real national security interests get short-changed. The large, visible and highly active military presence we have in Iraq has increased instability rather than decreased it. You should ask yourself whether or not the neocon vision was warped by ideologically driven wishful thinking.
