Byrd we are not impressed with, here in the g.w.n., he is the author of a thing called the Byrd Amendment, which, believe it or not, means that penalties against trade collected by the 'Commerce' department of your executive branch can be handed over to the very corruptos who hired the lobbyists to impose those penalties in the first place .... and they say crime doesn't pay, pfft .... so of course we're aware of Byrd's KKK connections, lots of other stuff, guaranteed our ministry of forests runs a file on the individual ..... i haven't heard what he says about the neocons attacking Iraq, it's possible that he got that right, who knows, maybe one day a week he plays the straight shooter or something

See, that thing of the Bush administration attacking my neighbours in summer '01 was what got me into political veins of thought, for the first time in ages .... it was the first glaring example of lies and hypocrisy out of the current US admin, and came well before the twin towers came down .... we had no idea then how completely pervasive was this style among your current rulers, or to what extremes they would go ..... we've got a thread going on it here - Subject 51596

'Here are the facts.........
We now control the 2nd largest oil reserve in the World.
'

Yeah, ain't that a fact .... and the first one, top of the list, eh .... how frank and honest of you ..... as you know, i'm pretty ignorant of geology for a mining punter, really don't understand some of the intricacies of it, like for instance how your oil got under their sand

'We are into Phase 2 of major "PNAC" implementation.'

Watch for third-degree burns in the next 'phase' ..... your neocons are uniting the planet against your entire nation .... not everybody out here is able to distinguish decent US nationals from this evil arrogant group, and understand that they are counter to the principles on which the US was founded, like we can here in the g.w.n. .... you maybe feel supremely powerful now, with big impressive carriers and nukes and all that, but you remain a rather small fraction of world population, you would do better to try making some friends among the Rest of Us

Kamloops, no, haven't worked around there for years, but i know a few people in the area .... serious emergency with those fires, the worst in years and we're only half-way through fire season, it could get a lot worse yet .... there's an excellent example of international cooperation, by the way, because crews from both nations are fighting fires along the border, and there is considerable sharing of resources, and planning together .... we've been hearing stories, as we know people involved ..... fighting fire is just like war, even to the sounds of helicopters and planes, and the smoke, the pine trees cracking when they go up can sound like gunshots ..... and the guys on the ground are noticing the same screwups out of their superiors, with both BC and state of Washington forest services, apparently, they gave priority to the wrong fires about ten days ago, and the ones they didn't fight spread where they weren't expected ... also there are the standard wartime snafus with botched supply lines, equipment [and crews' food and drinking water] sent to the wrong places ..... but they're all slugging it out against a common enemy, which is how it should be, eh
