He left to some local weather gig, in the DC area if I recall. They gave him a very classy sendoff, not something they do too often.

I heard he accepted a postion with a local TV station somewhere, but know no details, and have not confirmed it. In many cases, local stations in large markets pay better than the networks for such positions, so not surprising. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to work for one of the big NBC owned and operated stations.....
