I did find the Amy Tan piece on Lyme Disease interesting. Poor woman. I've always envied her because she is the lead singer in a writers' rock band. Could anything be more fun?

Speaking of Amy Tan, I just finished (the audiotape of) The Bonesetter's Daughter. Based on the Joy Luck Club, I hadn't planned to read more Tan (I enjoyed it, but not enough to be interested in seeing what else she would write), but came across it on tape, for which, because of the limited choices there, I have lower standards. But I thought The Bonesetter's Daughter was a very good book with some seriously good writing in it, better than Joy Luck. Also, this is interesting, because her editor died about four years ago, and the rumor was that the quality of her writing was unusually dependent on the talent of her editor. This turns out not to be true, which is nice for her.

I have other posts to answer, I know.
