Spiral and thread,
Beating each other up on whether the war was necessary in the first place confuses the issue imo. Despite what our views were on getting into the war, we are in a different place/reality now. So what to do? Buchanan with the benefits of 20/20 hindsight says cut and run. Many responsible non-neocons say the opposite. I am sure that neocons are reviewing their assumptions now as well. And Bush is no dummy and the election is only 15 months off.
So what should be the deadline when this guerrilla type resistance becomes more than we can bear? Should interationalization be used to offset the anti american nature of the guerilla activities or will the guerillas fight international forces in the same way? How do we and should we include arab/muslim forces in this mix? Or should we tough it out for another few months hoping what we are planting roots? These are questions that is think should be discussed here rather than the backbiting and blame game and charges of anti-americanism being indiscriminately bandied about. Mike
