Perhaps, but I worry about it. Remember, this is a new issue and everyone could not have been clued in yet. Took me years to recognize the old south code.

There are a lot of mean spirited people out there.

That's an interesting issue Karen has raised, and not one I had really thought about. Who exactly do you think is going to be at a rally to support traditional marriage? I'd bet there would be a lot of very anti- gay people there, and they'd be meeting and greeting and reinforcing each others very deep prejudices. Now it is perfectly legal for them to do that, but Karen's point is- do you want to add to their movement? It's a good question. And for some guy who wants to imagine a 100% gay population AND imagine they aren't going to breed (a leap) AND think that is determinative of something- you really ought to give some thought to Karen's thought experiment, which is much closer to our times, and probably has happened (pro-marriage/anti-gay rallies- that is).

And bravo for the point Karen, it is an excellent one. I wish I'd thought of it.
