You ask the questions, eh, B? And if somebody says something you don't hold with, they're a foreign agent or something. There are plenty of people who spend a lot of time here promoting the interests of one foreign country above all others, but I wouldn't put GST among them.

He's right, it is bizarre for you to accuse him of being a paid agent when he is being more intelligently patriotic, and clearly a far greater credit to his nation, than you are ..... consider, that the vietnamese really don't care about any of this anymore, it's not an issue to them, and probably won't be until the next foreign invader comes along, at which time you can bet your boots it will become an issue ..... but meantime, they don't have a lot of money, and no doubt have better things to spend it on than to pay people to type at you, lol

As a test for you, and in spirit with your test for GST - to what extent do you support the machine-gunning of babies in ditches, a la My Lai 4?

' ... Calley was at the drainage ditch on the eastern edge of the village, where about seventy to eighty old men, women, and children not killed on the spot had been brought. Calley ordered the dozen or so platoon members there to push the people into the ditch, and three or four GIs did. Calley ordered his men to shoot into the ditch. Some refused, others obeyed. One who followed Calley's order was Paul Meadlo, who estimated that he killed about twenty-five civilians. (Later Meadlo was seen, head in hands, crying.) Calley joined in the massacre. At one point, a two-year-old child who somehow survived the gunfire began running towards the hamlet. Calley grabbed the child, threw him back in the ditch, then shot him. '

' ... Soldiers later said they didn't remember seeing "one military-age male in the entire place".'

Vietnamese soldiers tortured American prisoners. There is no excuse for it. But their guilt is for their terrible behavior towards prisoners -- not because they are Vietnamese. Over 75% of the people in Vietnam were born after the war ended. They are the Vietnamese people. They live in Vietnam. It is their country.

The Japanese tortured American prisoners. The Japanese killed millions of Chinese in a way that is hard to describe without throwing up. I do not hate the Japanese. I do not hate the Vietnamese. I hate torture.

Vietnamese died by the millions. They proved day after day that they would go on dying for their country -- we would have to kill them all. They were not going to give up. We lost the war. The war was a mistake. It is their country. They are free of American domination. Get used to it.

Hi Brumar89; Re: "Can I ask you another question - was it right for the NVN govt to torture and mistreate American POW's as Sen. McCain and other POW's have related?"

That's terrible! We should never war with countries that don't play by the rules (our rules). Instead, we should just pick up our bombs and go home. Certainly it would be a bad idea to stick around getting beat up by people who don't play fair!
