That's an awful lot of lost purchasing power for a society that needs broad-based wage growth among its consumers to remain economically viable. [Tongue in cheek] I disagree. I just got a credit-card offer today with a credit limit of 100K. I have PLENTY of purchasing power! Thanks to Uncle Alan! ;-) In this context, I can do no better than quote verbatim, a comment I found elsewhere on the 'net: Greenspan's right, the US should focus on doing what it does best: creating debt and overpriced financial assets.
