Jim,

There are a number of processes that are very practical for reducing solid wastes; like anaerobic digestion (..mesophillic or thermophillic..). They can provide multiple, marketable by-products like soil amendment/potting soil, biogas, animal feeds, lube or fuel oils, etc.

I haven't dug into LETH's techo-geewhillikers yet, but it's unlikely that they would have gotten this far without a practical basis. The AWWA and other treatment technology experts would pooh-pooh them pretty quickly. Even that equipment that Rene Branconnier's farsical efforts (..the great Thermo Tech stock flop..) actually prodcued - works. Although, that particular process was highly unstable - judging from the fire that burned down one of their buildings.

When you get such a technology to operate properly, and can package it in a modular or skid-mounted unit, there are applications worldwide. OZLU and LETH both fall in this category. And, when the whizbangs get done with the stock games the technologies (..like ESWW..) may very well carry the day.

John :-)
