I'm not rallying with anti-semites because I don't like aid to Israel and I'm not going to rallies that attract the KKK because I don't like bussing. The company I keep (politcally speaking) is important to me. And i'm going to state my views very carefully to avoid getting into the same bed as people with whom I do not want to be associated. It might be hard to tell the anti-gay folks at a pro-marriage rally (but think to yourself, WHO are they really trying to exclude? Only gays. So who do you think such a rally is going to attract?) For someone who worries about the effect homosexual marriage will have on teenage promiscuity (that was a Great point Karen) I would have thought this argument of lending aid and comfort to really awful groups would resonate with you. I am surprised you don't immediately grasp the power of Karen's proposition.
