Saudi Secrets Are Safe With Bush

It would seem that the democrats are seeing the potential of harming the Bush administration over the long-standing US-Saudi relationship (which includes Republican and Democratic administrations over the past 50 years).

It's certainly a political vulnerability for Bush..

But it's also possible that Bush is counting upon the Democrats to push the issue, so that he has political cover with any of his Saudi supporters.

It also will serve to force the Saudis to perceive the growing focus on their tolerating, if not financing, terrorist activities, and they will have to make some serious decisions as to what side they are on.

And the Israelis? They will rejoice either way.. A more moderate, less militant Saudi Arabia, or the US toppling that regime and installing someone else (maybe the Hashemites?)..
