simon - from a Hebrew word meaning harkening.

I hear you, but with politicians, I remain a cynic.

Just me.

It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.

(Gore speech) - Great post, I agree with you... Gore sure got an affirmative response from the audience too

Last night on Capitol Report they had that dimwit republican pollster, don't know her name... sometimes she shows up wearing a baseball cap and chewing gum like some oversized adolescent, anyway she and Hillary Rosen who is now a dem spokesperson were discussing this Gore speech.

Hillary Rosen said exactly what you said... that Gore made the speech simply because these things needed to be said. Ms gum-chewer kept calling Hillary Rosen on WHY did Gore give this speech in NY and not Tennessee, as if to imply NY is not representative of the US.

The republicans are marginalizing themselves to a tiny niche market of the country- a few far right enclaves of virginia and florida, maybe. Because they say the same thing about California... "the US is not california", patently dismissing the anti-Bush sentiment here. So California is not the US and NY is not the US... I suspect the coastal states are more like CA and NY than not... Bush still has iowa and idaho I guess
