wstera_02 I despise the Democart/UN party. But the left has won. Bush the only alternative is a socialist. Yes he is pro-America and a nice guy but he is a socialist. His rote tax cuts for the wealthy will produce nada. Bill Gates will take his money and invest in India. Tax cuts without the equivalent cuts in government spending are bogus. Hillary will be able to use this to guarantee her election when she chooses to run. The pattern repeats. The Democrats when in power boost the economy by trashing the military. They use their power to get what they want. When the nation is in danger it turns to the Republicans. They spend massive amounts on the military but continue to be nice nice to the liberals.
Prescription drugs ?????? Are they crazy we don't have the money for social security. We are broke. So GW trashes the budget opens the printing press sends jobs oversees and guarantees that the liberals will have an easy election when the time comes. He does more for the liberals then he does for the conservatives other than regards the military.

We are losing jobs and what does GW do. He runs to lap at the feet of India and says he will do all in his power to make sure that big business will be able to send the jobs over there.
Has he got a clue? Where in the hell does he think the taxes will ever come from? Engineers and IT have been the greatest source of tax dollars to the US treasury. DUh will all the farm workers from MEHICO ever hope to pay what they suck out of the system. The true cost of lettuce in California is 15$ a head. Big Business is rich and the tax payers screwed.

Can you tell me why we are willing to spend a fortune in education dollars when there will be no jobs or the jobs will be so low paying that the investment is worthless? If IT and engineering have vanished we are hosed.
AT least stop wasting the money to hand degrees to people with IQ's of 90 and send them to carpentry school or some other skilled trade.

The jobs are gone and they ain't a coming back. Keep printing dollars Allan.

"Among the bedrock principles that the Republican Party stood for since its origins in the 1850's," writes Peterson in the New York Times, "is the principle of fiscal stewardship - the idea that government should invest in posterity and safeguard future generations from unsustainable liabilities. It is a priority that has always attracted me to the party. At various times in our history (especially after wars), Republican leaders have honored this principle by advocating and legislating painful budgetary retrenchment, including both spending cuts and tax hikes.

"Over the last quarter century, however, the Grand Old Party has abandoned these original convictions. Without ever renouncing stewardship itself - indeed, while talking incessantly about legacies, endowments, family values...and leaving 'no child behind' - the GOP leadership has by degrees come to embrace the very different notion that deficit spending is a sort of fiscal wonder drug. like taking aspirin, you should do it regularly just to stay healthy and do lots of it whenever you're feeling out of sorts."
