JDN, like you I paid into SS for 42 years and 30 years of it as a self employed person at the maximum rate. Nobody can tell me I am not entitled to my small social security check.

JDN, let me ask you a question.

Why do you think I should care about your excessive SS payouts, benefits that for people your age payout MUCH MORE than you put in (as opposed to my generation who is looking at a NEGATIVE RETURN) ... if you don't give a damn about the economic climate in the country?

If you vote for fiscally irresponsible government, who do things like create dividend tax cuts and push the country into the red more than ever in its history, putting the US in a poor position to negotiate on global wage matters... and you don't appear to give a sh!t about the jobs exodus even though SS payouts are paid by high taxes leveraged agaist the US PAYROLL- why should I care? Wasn't you that was joking about sending my job to india... what about these Delphi workers, think its a joke?

I'll tell you one thing, if we start to move towards doubledigit unemployment for white collar workers nationally- and I think that is in the cards- your social security payments are not going to be anybody's concern. You can use your elderly lobbies to vote for yet more lavish benefits but with a weak tax base, not much will matter.

Delphi Globetrots to Cut White-Collar Pay
"We're moving more and more of our engineering work to India, to Poland, to Mexico and to Brazil," said Delphi Chairman J.T. Battenberg during a presentation to analysts and investors earlier this week.
