I think this one is closest. When you consider people's reactions to homosexuality being taught in health or sex ed classes in schools, I think the "approval" thesis has the most bite.

IMO two of the key reasons, not yet mentioned by the pundits that so many Americans oppose legalizing gay relationships are:
1. Gays are so promiscuous.
2. Gays are credited with the widespread AIDS epidemic.
