TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ FRIDAY, JUNE 28, 2002 07:43:42 PM ]
MUMBAI: Infosys Technologies is still keen on setting up a development centre in China. The company has also received a license to open a business establishment in the country.

Clarifying Infosys' stand on China, Nandan Nilekani , Managing Director, President and Chief Operating Officer Infosys Technologies, told ET, "We have not given up our plans to set up a development centre in China as is widely believed. We are still scouting for a location to set up a centre there. "

"We are also looking at two other geographical locations to set up development centre in a bid to derisk our business model," he added. The recent escalation of tension between India and Pakistan has led several US customers of Indian sofware services firms to demand back up facilities in other countries, so that even if there is a war their projects will not get affected.
