Well, speaking purely from an entertainment standpoint, yes. It is the "best thing."

I don't "wish" misery and suffering on these people. But clearly, they are miserable and they are suffering. And they seem to thrive on it. They seem to relish it. They seem to revel in it. It certainly gives them a sense of purpose.

So who's to say it isn't the best thing for them, as well?
