THanks for the info, energyplay. It's an important matter, which broker to use. Commissions add up, eh? In this case I found enough negatives about Interactive Brokers that I don't want to use them but I certainly appreciate your kindness in forwarding the tip that you received from others.
In Canada, there's no toll free number. I have to call their Montreal office long distance every time I want to speak to them. Their U.S. office will not take my business. Besides that their US office only handles US trades! I presume that there are analogous limitations on trades placed with their Canadian office.
For trades of more than about 1700 shares Ameritrade Canada with its fixed price of $11.00 is actually cheaper. But one cannot buy pink sheet shares through Ameritrade.
