Any politically sophisticated fan of Rush might get a kick out of the "conspiracy theory" background of ABC which promoted him and managed his career. It sounds like a Matt Drudge or Oliver Stone, but with facts, and apropos of our earlier discussion of gov't media influence.

William Casey started Capital Cities, which bought ABC, which when the Fairness Doctrine was eliminated, looked for hit men to promote Washington-centric propaganda.

To anyone who believes that the government should not control the press, the possibility that the CIA created a media company to dispense conservative and Cold War propaganda should be alarming. Rush Limbaugh himself calls freedom of the press "the sweetest -- and most American -- words you will ever find." (2) Apparently, he is unaware of the history of his own employers.

Well said Lindy! I have a gut feeling Rush hasn't really read many of the blogger sites.

This ones my favorite thus far, along with Hughhewitt.com
