That tells me that at least you know when you've stepped on your tongue. As for what I have against oil men, the answer is that I have distrust of them. Historically they have justified that distrust. Many times in the past they have, as a group, put their interests ahead of the interests of their country. The most recent example of this was the "oil crisis" that preceded and overlapped Bush's election. As soon as they were sure that they would have a "friendly" white house, they created artificial shortages of natural gas and basically upended the national economy. That money flowed into Huston pockets but we'd have minimized the overall economic damage if we'd just given it to them and left the national economy intact. There are other examples of antitrust violations going back decades, shady dealings that cost lives and goodwill across the world, bribes and the list goes on. One of the most powerful "unofficial" people in the United States was Ken Lay, before he got caught. That should tell you something. Even if you were to assume their "good" intentions, however, aren't you a little worried about the number of people in power that see the world through "oil" eyes. I wouldn't want a majority of the powerful men in the world to come from ANY one segment of the economy and when it's a segment as one-viewed as the oil segment, that's scary. You're talking about a sector of the economy that's known for rash, risk taking, beyond government control, manipulative, law bending, law buying behaviors. I'd think you'd like to see other views more widely represented but it won't happen. Big oil chose this president, funded this president, elected this president and controls this administration. The funny thing is that you're not even concerned after we've gone to war over, you guessed it, the control of Mid Eastern oil.
