Brent Crude Pares Losses as IEA Raises Forecast for Oil Demand This Year

``The market is incredibly long at the moment and there have been some mean pickings made on the crude market this year,'' Evers said. ``Until we have some definite news on the sustainability of Iraq crude flows, prices will stay around $29 a barrel.''

The number of so-called non-commercial long positions, or purchases made by investors betting that prices will rise, increased to 132,720 contracts, or 132.7 million barrels, as of Tuesday last week. That's the highest since at least 1984, according to data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission published through Bloomberg.
