IMO it is not what is hurting the President's poll numbers though. There are many weak minded people that are swayed by all the "no WMD's found" talk, and nobody likes to see Amercians getting killed in Iraq (that is hurting him the most). But unlike his spineless predesessor, he will stick to the task that he promised to the American people. That is WINNING the war on terrorism. I know that breaks your heart. Because you are on their side.
