RE:"I also think he's a nice guy.......saw him skiing with his kids once......looked to be a good father. I just don't think he's got the experience to run a state as complicated and as f*kked up as CA."

Ted, Gray Davis is a carreer politician. Very clever about getting elected. That didn't say much about his ability to turn California around either. He looked like a complete idiot when the oil guys jerked his state over the barrel.

I was amazed when CA elected G.Davis as governor. I don't know how it happened.......he is the consummate career bureaucrat. Someone's dog has more vision. It still amazes me.

OTOH, there is the distinct possiblity that Californias woes were seeded long befor Davis or Wilson or...

It's just reaching the crescendo now.

You've got that right. I knew the place was crazy the first year I moved there. It was so bad that when one day I saw a state trooper start to weave back and forth on the freeway......instead of thinking that he was trying to do something positive and slow traffic, I figured he [the state trooper] had lost it and become one of the crazies. I should have moved then.

I mean, look at some of the bonehead things the populace voted for over the last 26 years...and they wonder why they are out of power, broke, overrun, losing businesses, out of jobs and 38 billion dollars short.

They wanted ecotopia and nirvana but forgot a few details along the way.

I'm not sure what they wanted but whatever it is, I don't think they got it. All I know is that I've never been in a place so illogical as CA.
