When the Chinese replace the US as the world's Hegemon (2050?, 2100?), the French will have the same relationship with the Chinese, that they now have with the U.S. They will grumble and nitpick and accomodate.

The real danger for France is demographic. If current trends continue, in immigration, and differential birth-rates, France is setting themselves up for an Intifada in the second half of this century. Assuming they continue to fail at assimilating their Muslims.
