One year, two years, five years, They are time lines of investment. The ROI on Iraq may be a decade time frame.

Jobs and retraining are about the changing nature of job mix that will fall out of advances in technology. I don't see losing jobs as opposed to a displacement in the numbers in the job mix. And I think that job growth may be starting again.

One of the things the last round of tech did was give good insight into demand and demand growth. That led to an ability to trim size to fit demand more closely and that is the real reason behind the current job loss numbers. Population is not growing as fast as GDP.
