I think my point was more along the lines of the evolution of technology than politics. When the Web began to dawn in the late '80s-early '90s, thousands of propeller-heads envisioned themselves as future kings because they had mastered MD-DOS and all the arcane languages. Then Windows '95 came along and, with Netscape/AOL, even a chimpanzee could navigate the Web _ or switch out a keyboard. So it is now with "disposable" PCs. A lot of these guys have to feel as though their formal education was largely a waste of time _ and money. PB
