Haqihana, you cannot export democracy. Holding elections and having a council as the US had done in Iraq is not ushering in democracy. If democracy is to have even a peewee chance of survival in those parts of the world, then the US will have to be in there for almost 15 years. It is the culture in those countries which make it unfavorable for democracy. So those depraved Muslim nations theory you put forward is something that I do not agree is the impact that the US invasion of Iraq will have on them.

The Bush regime (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz etc.) are naive on foreign affairs. Their foreign policy (geez, I thought Colin Powell was the Foreign Sec.) is bankrupt. And it will soon bankrupt the nation. I am apalled that folks like you seriously believe that the Iraqi invasion will have the intended impact on the depraved Muslim nations. Did you see what happened in Israel last night (the two bombings?) The Jews and the Palestenians are to blame equally. As I said, the US should let the Israelis and the Palestenians kill themselves to death till one surrenders and realize for themselves that peace is in their interest and not in the interest of the US.
