Mike, You're saying the same thing I am. Painting either party as the only ones who know anything about defense is nonsense. My points were that Dems are considered wimps, even though they won the wars. And George Bush, the real one, was a war hero, and was called a wimp, while his son is a wimp and is considered a hero by many. Just a weird mess. Stinnet's evidence isn't as silly as Coulter's, but it is pretty bad. The fact is, we probably had "evidence" of the Japanese getting ready to attack every day of the week from 1939 until December 7, 1941. A lot of the same stuff is being said about the 9/11 attacks. Sure, there was evidence. Jeanne Dixon predicted that Kennedy would be shot, too, and the fact that the administration did nothing about it is not proof that JFK was suicidal. He probably got those threats and predictions every hour on the hour.
