today is a perfect example of how LU is always behind the curve. check today for new defs using LU. assuming you updated yesterday, it will tell you that you are current and up to date, and offer no defs for downloading. this is WRONG new defs for 8/12 have already been released via IU. i just posted the links. a list of 17 new viruses (or variants) added today can be found here... securityresponse.symantec.com again, it matters not how frequently one schedules LU to go looking for new defs. it only checks with the LU server, which is only updated on wednesdays (usually). there are rare exceptions to this wednesday only rule. yesterday was one... LU issued new defs on a monday.
