Nonsense. No one here is glorifying violence with the possible exception of chuck. Yes deal with underlying problems but stop the terrorists with violence if necessary. There needs to be this duality to the policy. You apparently do not recognize this and if your were Pres, we would be waving the white flag way to often. Mike

In order to spread and flourish, terrorism needs for its targets to respond violently in anger to terror and to ignore the roots of terror.

What horse-puckie...

Terrorism commit their acts in order to focus media and public attention upon themselves and their cause, in hopes they can intimidate their victims into conceding to their demands..

What encourages such acts are sympathetic comments and reporting from those people...

Terrorists go underground when they cannot achieve that intimidation, or face active and powerful responses from those victims.

There might be times when a terrorist group might attempt to provoke a counter-response, if they perceive that they will not face more than a limited attack.. But start killing their leadership and the message quickly is received that the terrorists can not expect to get away with their actions..

Most people understand that GST.. Most people, except people of your ilk, who stand ready to do everything to avoid defending yourselves or your neighbors, and excusing the actions of the terrorists..
