I so agree with you about stifling discourse- it happens all the time here, and not just because meanings bog things down, but often because people use that way of bogging things down to win points. Didn't mean to sound touchieeee, but sometimes there is an aura of condescension that I find really offputting on SI. Usually I don't see you doing that, and so when I thought you and Neo were pulling this "If it ain't Greek, it ain't Good," routine, I may have over-reacted. Ever since I read Plato believed that a man who failed to conquer his emotions and use his intellect would be reborn as a woman, I have looked with a slightly suspicious eye on the Old Guys. And no, you don't need to put anything at the end of your posts- I will try to stay my normal trusting self, and not look for ulterior subtexts. :)
