"Would you also not be in a position to choose the death of Americans on 9/11 as a rationale for any response directed at terrorism?

This is a tricky sentence. I am not sure what you are saying my position is here. Just for clarity I don't choose death, I have no control over death.

If it is the "rationale" thing you are targeting here then, its a little more complicated. Terrorism is by it's nature, using unjust means to cause fear and terror in the lives of its victims. I am against that. I believe it is a good thing for other people to take a stand against it as well. The tragic disruption and suffering for the living who were connected to the 911 incident is a horrendous injustice, caused by terrorism. The dead are dead, period. I think fear of death is a waste of time but that is a side issue. The only reason I mention it, is that you all have it woven throughout your argument in an apparent attempt to cause fear.

"Since Iraq was not connected to 9/11 you would not have ANY rationale to defend the precepts of the invasion of Iraq."

I don't think we disagree on much of this. I am not a defender of the precepts of the invasion in general. The connection to 9/11 is weird. Saddam does have connections to political regimes around the world. Not all of them but many, and I do not believe he was able to make an alliance with OBL, although I am sure he would have liked to. He would like to grow his to be the most powerful. However, OBL would not support that and visa versa.
