What they believed was they wanted no STATE sponsored church to exist. It doesn't. The intention was NEVER to make sure that no believers served, as is the Democrats new quest...evidenced by the filibuster of the Judges put forth right now. But, when you get right down to the cutting of the deal, many christians want no state sponsored religion..I know I don't, yet, I also know this country would not be here and be as it is but for the grace of God Almighty then and now.
