And we are indeed damned when we launch unprovoked wars of aggression and enforce military occupation to get our hands on somebody else's oil. We are indeed damned when we do things that harm our own national security. And we are indeed damned if we accept lies from the White House and if we turn a blind eye when the White House adopts misguided foreign policy. In a democracy, we have some responsibility to keep our eyes open and make sure we do not end up with bad government. Keep your eyes shut tight if you like. I prefer to keep mine wide open.
