Well, it makes sense. The two party system needs to keep both sides at odds. As the number of issues they disagree on decrease, there is a need to keep the flame alive, and justify their existence. The Calif recall is a joke and an embarrassment to Ca. However, one interesting thing is immerging. Because there are a gazillion candidates, suddenly you're forced to choose a candidate based on their merit and qualifications instead of their political affilliation. Sort of a strange feeling...
