I think you misunderstand war in the new Century. Now through terrorists Nations can sponsor "so-called" stateless citizens and let THEM do the dirty work and stand back and claim innocence themselves.

What? Give me one example of this kind of action taking place. The 9-11 terrorists were Saudis. Is Saudi Arabia a terrorist nation?

Look at the economic damage, not to mention the loss of life, caused to the USA on 9/11.

Yes it was bad. And we had to respond against Al Qaeda. Why are we responding against Iraq? If you ask me we left the job of hunting down Al Qaeda and bin Laden half done, and shifted the focus to Saddam. That is half baked.

Imagin a hundred snipers around the nation like we had in Wash. D.C.,

Hell that guy was an American, trained by the US Army.

or a dirty bomb set off in LA or a few airliners shot down with shoulder fired weapons. Can you even guess the damage that would cause to the USA economy and YOUR RIGHTS as a citizen.

Yes that would be a lot of damage. Too bad we took the focus off of Al Qaeda, because that is where the terrorist threat is likely to come from. Not Saddam.

We MUST take the WAR to the nations that might sponsor such.

Might sponsor such? I'd like to think we can do better than might. Like how about information on terrorist activities. We had that information prior to 9-11, but the threat was incorrectly ignored.

If it were up to me I would NOW take out IRAN and SYRIA unless they immediately arrested and turned over to us all terrorists on their soil of any ilk. jdn

JDN, Thank god it's not up to you. Syria was trying to help us with the war on terror, and in getting bin Laden. When Bush turned his efforts to Iraq, Syria stopped sharing information with us. They did not see the connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda, as most terrorist watchers were well aware. They tried to open a back channel to the US, but Bush rebuked Syria.

Iran is another nation that we need to watch. It is a nation who's people want democracy and a modern western life. But attacking Iran ala Iraq would be another huge mistake.

Your ideas about war in the new Century are out of whack with reality.
