No, that's not what I said. I said, in reference to deficit: No, it happens by business cycles. It certainly didn't happen by any "hard choice" Clinton made..... Only thing, Clinton's fear was of the latest polls.

To raise taxes IS A HARD CHOICE. And in year 2K GPD terms, a 2% tax hike would represents $200B of additional tax revenue....but that is not the point, again. Clinton raised taxes and THEREFORE HE REDUCED THE GAP BETWEEN OUTLAYS AND INCOME. You and I can argue how much that reduction represented, but you cannot argue that IT WAS A REDUCTION. Bush has REDUCED TAXES and has INCREASED spending.

WHICH PRESIDENT MADE THE HARDER CHOICES and which is/was playing up to the polls or paying back election debts?
