First Data Corp Wins China Everbright Bk Outsourcing Deal
BEIJING (Dow Jones)--First Data Corp. (FDC) said Wednesday it had won its first major outsourcing contract in China, by signing a deal to manage the bank card system of China Everbright Bank.

The Denver-based provider of electronic commerce and payment services will supply the Chinese bank with a software platform and other back-end services to process its credit card and debit card transactions.

Financial details for the multiple-year contract weren't disclosed. China Everbright Bank has already issued more than 10 million debit cards, and is planning to launch its first credit cards later this year.

The bank is part of the state-backed China Everbright Group, a financial services conglomerate which lists some of its assets in Hong Kong. One of those units, China Everbright Ltd. (H.CEB) is a shareholder in China Everbright Bank, though the bank is reportedly considering a stock listing of its own.
